use : datailsview1_Item Deleted, Item Updated, Item Inserted events for handling these functions you can call your business layer methods here and then rebind detailsview with result dataset, does it make sense? thanks :-) OK I attached both of them here, but this is large page , and details view is only small section of it and remember that i used sql data source on this page monthly txt monthly I need only Edit / Cancel / Delete - Operation Atleast, I am able to bring Delete Still i am not able to bring Command - Edit - Update / Cancel I have compared my code with your code.
Anything reported here gets through to the development team.
If this is a blocking issue you can report it to Product Support and investigation will be escalated and maybe a patch would be created.
View_ View_Insert_Edit_Update_ With Grid hope this helps..!
I need to do a custom update for a form view (I think/know), as some of the parameters that are required for updating values should not be updated by the users, such as userid of the person performing the action which is passed back to the database for auditing purposes.
Since our goal with the new data controls was to not require the user to call Data Bind explicitly in all mainline scenarios, we need to call Data Bind if properties that affect the rendering or control tree are changed.
If the control didn’t rebind, setting the Header Text to anything (even “Wibble”) wouldn’t do anything until you call Data Bind explicitly.
The command argument value corresponds to the Command Argument property of the Update button.
event is raised when an Update button within a Details View control is clicked, but before the update operation.
In the mean time, as a workaround, you can manually repopulate the fields from the New Values collection; it's not a great solution, but would allow you to keep working.
Alternatively, don't set the title text, but maybe have a label outside of the Details View that you update with error/warning messages.
